Trikkestallen, Norges eneste scene dedikert til figurteater, er lagt ned. Dette skjer på tross av at vi har en lang og stolt tradisjon innen figurteater og at Norge har verdensledende kompanier innen kunstformen. I panelsamtalen Figurteater i et (geo)politisk perspektiv ønsker UNIMA Norge og Figur i Fossekleiva (Fossekleiva kultursenter) å løfte samtalen om figurteater opp og frem.
Vi er best kjent med kunstformen som en måte å adaptere barnebøker, men gjennom samtaler med internasjonale aktører skal vi se hvordan tradisjonelt Ukrainsk Vertep-teater har fått en ny betydning etter Russlands fullskala-invasjon i 2022, vi skal høre om figurteater som et element i terapi og vi skal diskutere forskjellen på figurteater for barn og voksne for å se om teaterformen også her til lands kan få flere ben å stå på.
Panelsamtalen er støttet av Norsk tidsskriftforening og Fritt Ord. Den avholdes på engelsk og er et samarbeid mellom UNIMA Norge og Figur i Fossekleiva.

Dr. Daria Ivanova-Hololobova
director, cultural manager, researcher. President of NGO “UNIMA-UKRAINE” (Ukrainian National Center of International Union of Puppeteers "UNIMA"). Lecturer at Kyiv National I.K. Karpenko-Karyi University of Theatre, Cinema and Television (Ukraine). Expert of Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. Researcher at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf (Germany). As a researcher supported with the scholarships by DAAD, Gerda Henkel Foundation, and the Philipp Schwartz Initiative by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
Curator and participant of the international artistic and educational projects: “My smart digital class – Study history of puppetry art worldwide", (e) merge - art networking Ukraine-Germany, “When objects speak about war”, “Contemporary Puppetry_Network: NORDIC_UA”.
Dr. Jeannette Drygalla
Born in 1969, from Halle (Saale) Germany.
Studied economics and social sciences (business, art history and psychology) at the Leipzig Graduate School of Management and the Martin Luther University of Halle, graduating with a degree in business administration and a doctorate in philosophy.
Works as a social scientist and lecturer in applied puppetry, biographical work and sex education for prospective educators at the Euro Akademie Halle, as well as freelance. She is also an artist and creative writer, author, and founder of the writing group BandSchreibenVorfall (Halle/ Germany).
Torunn Tusj
(she/her) is the Artistic Leader of Go Figure! Festival of Puppetry and Visual Theatre in Oslo (Go Figure). Torunn graduated from University of Oslo (Theatre Science and Nordic Folkloristics) in 1996 and has since been working within theatre, both as a playwright, director, performer and pedagogue.Go Figure is an international festival focusing mainly on contemporary puppetry and visual theatre. The festival aims to present the variety of artistic expressions and forms within the genre.
Moderator:
Cariad Astles
is a puppeteer, teacher, trainer, researcher and director. She works as a puppetry tutor at both Exeter University and also at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. She specialises, amongst other things, in applied puppetry, with a particular focus on puppetry in healthcare settings, including hospitals. She has published widely on puppetry and is the President of the UNIMA research commission and currently one of the two UNIMA Vice-Presidents. She runs workshops internationally and delivers training in puppetry performance, directing, matter animation and applied puppetry.
